October 24 - 30, 2022
Join Millennials in Travel, Switzerland Tourism, and Kuoni Tumlare on our first ever sustainable focused FAM!
As millennials, we recognize that responsible travel leads to a smaller footprint. This awareness has led to a new approach to travel – one that inspires visitors to do their part to preserve the world around us. In doing so, we protect the opportunity to experience authentic destinations, highlighted by natural beauty, local culture, and regional flavors. Switzerland is one of the world’s leading countries in sustainability. With an expansive rail network of 9,600 trains traveling roughly 3,000 km each day, a wide range of organic products, superior air quality, expansive clean water systems, and recycling and nature conservation programs, it’s no wonder this destination has achieved this status.
Our Switzerland FAM will introduce you to the breathtaking landscapes, friendly people, and local flavors of this captivating country, all while traveling in the most convenient and eco-friendly way possible – by rail! Our DMC host, Kuoni Tumlare, is a destination management company with over 100 years of experience, a global footprint, unrivalled local destination knowledge, and rich expertise. Kuoni was founded in Switzerland in 1906, inspired by the mission to foster connections across cultures.
ITINERARY AT A GLANCE:
Our journey begins in Zurich on October 24th with a train transfer to our hotel, followed by a private, guided walking tour visiting the old town sites and the city’s beautiful churches. Following the tour, we will meet for a welcome dinner.
The following day, we will take a train transfer to a farm where we will learn about agriculture, organically grown food, and history. We will enjoy a delicious farm to table lunch and then continue by train to Lucerne – a city nestled in the heart of Switzerland. After checking in to our hotel, we will gather for a typical Swiss folklore dinner.
On October 26th we will begin our day with a tour of Lucerne, a city set against the backdrop of impressive mountainous panoramas. We will get acquainted with all the sights of the city, including the medieval Chapel Bridge, considered to be one of the oldest covered wooden bridges in all of Europe.
Following our tour, we will take a 45-minute train journey to the authentic Swiss mountain town of Engelberg. From there the cable cars will transport us to Mount Titlis where we will enjoy a lunch with panoramic views of the glacier at 10000 ft above sea level. After lunch, enjoy some free time at Lake Trübsee before a late afternoon return trip to Lucerne and dinner on own.
The next day we will take a train along the scenic route between Central Switzerland and Ticino. We will savor local flavors on a food and wine tour in the afternoon including several stops to enjoy local specialties from Ticino, including delicious white merlot, before checking into our Lugano hotel.
On the 28th of October we will take a bus to Tirano, Italy for lunch, followed by the Bernina Express to St. Moritz. This spectacular train route follows a path through 196 bridges and 55 tunnels. Upon arrival to St. Moritz check-in to hotel before coming together for dinner.
The following day we will have time at leisure in St. Moritz to enjoy as wish – go rowing, shopping, stand-up paddle boarding, hiking, or take a horse-drawn carriage ride. An afternoon train back to Zurich brings us to our final evening, including a farewell dinner.
On October 30th, you’ll take the train transfer to the airport in Zurich for individual return flights home.
