It was a pleasure to work with Millennials in Travel to organize a joint FAM trip to Peru for members to experience our Belmond trains and hotels. All of the participants that applied were highly qualified and came from diverse backgrounds. It was a difficult decision about who to select and our team was thrilled by the interest. The group of 8 advisors who attended were highly engaged, courteous and all came away with great social media content and learnings to pass on to their clients. We can't wait to partner with MIT again. Having MIT facilitate the application process and then provide the supplier with guidance & references was tremendously helpful. By working through MIT, we reached great Agencies & Advisors who were not on our radar already, but had great potential for our hotels. We were happy to have Advisors who attend who represented a mix of luxury program affiliations, types of business and from different geo source markets. It was a huge time saver for us that MIT had checked the applicant's references, and provided us with additional insight and background. I have never worked with a partner that provided such a comprehensive FAM planning and selection process. MIT totally delivered! I have Millennials in Travel to thank for helping me actualize my goal of working in the travel industry. After working in entertainment for 4 years, I realized it was not for me; but I knew I did want to build a career around something I was passionate about, which meant travel. After reaching out to a friend on LinkedIn I was invited to the Millennials in Travel event at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica. I met numerous people there, who all seemed truly enthused with their various careers. The next day, I saw a job post on Millennials’ Facebook page about a position for a Product Specialist at Travcoa. I applied, and 2 rounds of interviews later I was offered the position. While working as a Corporate Recruiter I was exposed to many people finding their dream job and wanted to do the same. I knew the travel industry was the place for me, but without prior experience I didn’t know how or where to start. After meeting a Millennials in Travel member and hearing about her career, my desire to join the travel industry only grew. She added me to the MIT Facebook group and within a week I saw a post for the exact type of job I’d been looking for, but hadn’t found myself. I applied and got the job! If you are looking to build meaningful business relationships in the Chicago market I highly recommend for you to work with MIT Chicago chapter. I recently had a pleasure to work with their team on putting together a local event and I was intrigued by their dedication, professionalism and attention to detail. The event was a big success for all parties involved. I already received a lead generated by the function! Hotel Emeline hosted a MIT event that was a success in Charleston! It was well attended by Travel Advisors and Hoteliers, alike. In terms of arranging the logistics, this was all quite organized by MIT and allowed for flexibility into our space, food & beverage offerings, date/timing and capacities. The format gave Emeline much exposure to the area Advisors and was a productive and successful event. In spite of thunder, lightning, and a heavy rainstorm, my colleagues and I had a wonderful response from the Charleston Chapter of Millennials in Travel at our recent “Island Vibes Event” at Hobcaw Brewery. Perhaps it was the crazy weather, the tasty beverages, or the general laidback atmosphere that brought everyone out that night but whatever the reason, we were delighted with the interest, enthusiasm, questions and overall warmth that greeted us from the members and agents who attended. Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with MIT in a number of different capacities, however none as personal to me or as large in scope as RepFest.
