If you’re an avid traveler who’s been to Los Angeles or you’re getting ready to check off that bucket list trip to Los Angeles, downtown Culver City has to be on your list of places to visit when you’re here. This is a town full of movie history and some of the city’s most delicious bites. Whether you enjoy a good hike, an instagrammable drink or dining experience with friends or the family, you’re going to find it here. This is my hometown so I’ve seen this place transform into the beautiful must-see spot it is today, and I got to tell you it rivals the classic must-see items you’re used to seeing for Los Angeles.

Get Grub

Small nibbles and drinks or maybe a full-on meal. Head over to the newest member of the Culver City eatery, Citizen Public Market. You could seriously spend the entire day here, grab a coffee at Goodboybob while you work. Get tacos for lunch at Mexicology (my personal favorite!) and then head up to the beautiful rooftop with a drink from Bar Bohemien and close it out with a seriously delicious burger and beer at the WEHO Sausage Co. That’s a complete day there. To burn off those calories follow with a stairway that seems to never end, meet the Culver Stairs at Baldwin Hills Overlook.

Get a View

Head over to Baldwin Hills Overlook. This is the home of the now instragram famous Culver Stairs. If you’re trying to keep to your exercise regimen while on vacation you can climb 282 steps to the top. But not to worry, if you’re trying to keep your kicks clean, you can drive up to the Overlook center and still enjoy the same view. Try to spot Griffith Park Observatory and the Hollywood sign from here!

If you’re looking to simply have a chill day, just across the street from Citizen Public Market, find yourself a picnic table at the Culver Steps under an umbrella and let the conversations and laughter of those around you fill the background noise while you work. You’ll find fabulous options to get you through the day like the Philz Coffee that just opened up or a true local spot, Make Out where you’ll find healthy juices and lunch.

This little corner of the city is quite small, but you’ll find there is plenty to do even if you were to find yourself an Airbnb or stay at the chic Palihotel Culver City. This is the perfect hub for your vacation, from here you can hop on the Expo Line to make your way out to Santa Monica to catch some waves or make your way out to downtown Los Angeles for some of that epic historical experience.
